As an organisation recognised for supporting innovation within healthcare and surrounding industries, the Innovation Agency has responded quickly to the potential for digital transformation. The recent upgrade of head office facilities in Daresbury, Cheshire is part of strategic activity to create a fluid work environment, supporting flexible and hybrid work styles as people return to the office.
The project's focus was to create an easy to use, highly flexible workspace for staff and social care partners. The solution developed in partnership with Pure AV was to embed high-quality audio visual and conferencing technology into the meeting spaces, empowering users to work in the location and the approach best suited to their task.
The upgrade covers two meeting rooms, a boardroom, a podcast room, and a mobile solution available for deployment throughout the office space.
In the boardroom, a Logitech Tap Teams room with Swytch cable provides a gateway for hybrid meetings. Participants can use the space as a Microsoft Teams Room or use the Swytch cable to connect a laptop and run sessions from the video collaboration platform of their choice. Two large format displays support the in-room experience. An impressive 98" Philips screen at the front and a 65" repeater screen on the sidewall ensures full visibility for those in the room. At the same time, a Logitech Rally camera presents a clear view of attendees for those joining from remote locations.
Ceiling mounted Shure line array microphones, and Extron pendant speakers offer crystal clear audio, with attendees able to speak naturally and with complete confidence that they will be heard clearly in the room and by remote attendees.
The audio experience was a particular challenge in this project as poor room acoustics threatened the performance of the installed equipment and the user experience. To overcome this, Pure AV introduced discreet acoustic ceiling panels along with custom printed wall mounted absorber panels. The installation greatly enhanced the quality of the room experience, and also offered the opportunity to personalise the spaces with creative artwork printed onto the panels and linked to the organisation's story. These panels also feature in the podcast room and the other two meeting spaces.
In the smaller meeting space, a Crestron Flex Tabletop system, Huddly IQ camera and 55" Philips display provide the tools necessary to support straightforward BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) video or in-room meetings. The simple HDMI and USB connectivity creating a quick and easy way to start and run sessions, while experiencing high-quality video and audio.
In the collaboration room a Quadra VC meeting table houses a 65” Philips display and Logitech Tap with MeetUp. Setup as a Microsoft Teams Room, the popular space enables staff to walk in start using the room with ease. HDMI connectivity is also provided for simple laptop presentation when conferencing is not required.
The combination of the different spaces along with the mobile solution of a 65” screen with Logitech Meetup has created a range of options for staff and visitors, enabling the fluid transition between in-person, remote and hybrid meetings. Those who have used the spaces have become quickly confident in their operation and anticipate the continued expansion of their use.
